I took these a couple weeks ago and the baby has arrived. I am anxiously awaiting for mom to feel up to me popping in for my newborn session!

In the meantime, I've been playing with some of the maternity shots:

Your model is a lovely young lady and I love her expression. You have done well in capturing it.

I also love the high contrast B&W. Looking at it on my monitor at work (which monitor leaves a lot to be desired!), this one looks like you have pretty well plugged the blacks - there's almost no detail there. Was that your intent?

Do you know that the model is going to want to see the stretch marks? I would consider doing a little PP to minimize (but not completely remove) these.

I agree with Scott on the blacks....and I am on a calibrated monitor.

The stretch marks jumped out at me right away as well. A different conversion method might subdue them some, but ...... they definately need something to keep the focus on that beautiful mother.

The lighting is great!!

I wanted to PS the strech marks out but I was told NO! That is me...
Maybe I will do them for my portfolio shots.

The Black was intentional - I just got NIK Color Efx...I am still playing with them to see what each one does.

Thanks for the comments.:lust

I think its absolutely fantastic. I'm all for the natural aspect of the subject. It is what real women have to deal with in real life and I think it depicts it very well. The model is absolutely stunning and very much aglow with her pregnancy. Very well done in my book.
