Like the title says, I got my first SLR today. Done alot of studying before I got it, By the time I read the manual, the weather was pretty bad - dark, cold windy but I thought I'd go out to my garden to take some pictures anyways.

I can see the first one had a fair bit of noise. If anyone could comment on whats good/bad or give any pointers, It'd be much appreciated :)

Now the fun part comes... learning how to use it.

How bout you tell us what camera gear your using in a reply to your images, this will help folks here help you :nod

These are little too dark, but I must say I do like the sky in your first shot, noise and all :D

Thanks Skip :)

I was using a tripod. I got a Canon EOS 40D, Used a EFS 18-55mm lens in those shots with a 0.45x wide angle lens attached to the front. I know the wide angle lens isnt really a good idea but I like wide shots and it's just temporary until my fish eye arrives.
