Help! I'm currently using a Nikon D70 and my AF-S Nikkor 18-70 zoom works fine. I have an older lens from my film days a Nikon AF Nikkor 80-200. 1:4.5-5.6D where I keep getting the (Fee) error message. I'm locked at the highest aperture (f32) and the manual seems to suggest that this lens should be compatible. Questions:
1. Am I doing anything wrong?
2. Is the lens compatible with the D70?
3. If it's not compatible...is there a cheaper way of making it work...or worst case...do I need to spring for a new lens. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks...Calavera

OK... Is the aperture ring set to F32 and the little tab is locked down? :dunno

UPDATE: Actually just re-read your words. Should be compat... The only other thing is to take a pencil eraser and clean the contacts on the lens. If you can, also clean the contacts on the body and try again.

OH... and check the firmware on the camera. Should be ver 2.00 I believe.

Let us know if any of this works for you...
