They all have beautiful eyes Brian :nod

The first fly has nicely shaped wings.

I would have never thought (until now :D), that I would find pictures of flies so interesting, and beautiful. Thanks for opening my eyes, Brian.

Thanks for the comments everyone :)
Must admit I think these are marvels of construction even if they are not beautiful :)

I definitely agree with that. I am always so amazed at the intricate and complicated designs in nature.

Like them all but #5 jumps out at me. I like the colors and the posture of the fly. Is it really that color or is it picking up some color from the leaf? MM

Thanks again for the comments :)

CassisP - "ok but how the heck were you able to get the flies the stay still long enough"

You need to approach subjects low and slowly, and stay out of their light. Obviously I only get photographs of bugs I don't scare though :)

TRM "Like them all but #5 jumps out at me. I like the colors and the posture of the fly. Is it really that color or is it picking up some color from the leaf?"

#5 was really that colour- did have slightly more green tinge to it than these flies normally have - they are often quite yellow/gold coloured.

beautifull set! :bow

i once visited a exhibition with giant insects on display, to give you an idea how it would be like to be an insect. Praying mantis of 2 meters was kind of intimidating :huh

Your work brings the viewer up close and personal just like the exhibition! :thumb
