I'd appreciate some feedback on this photo. I took it this past weekend while visiting home. Please be tough with your advice.

Nice color in the picture, and it is sharp.
It took me a second look to figure out what I was seeing. First I though it was an abstract piece, then realized it is ice.
I think that the photo would work better for me if more water were shown. Perhaps you cropped your photo to concentrate on the ice. If this is a crop, I would enjoy seeing a photo not cropped quite so tightly.
I like the story I perceive in the photo. To me it says something like, "After the snow," or "Spring Thaw."

This picture didn't come from a very large original, but here it is. This original had slightly different work done on it.

I actually like this picture better. You might reduce the glare some with a mask. Thanks for showing the larger photo.

I actually do my editing with a cheap program right now. Don't even have the ability to add a mask. I did however just order photoshop though and it should be arriving tomorrow or thursday. can't wait to have a good program for editing my photos!!

Photshop will change your life. (More time at the computer anyway.)

This is a cool pic. I like the second one also. In addition to comosition, the ice has more depth. Wonder what various different shutter speeds would have produced? Also if there was a snow covered bank that could have been included in the background, it may have been an even stronger suggestion of spring thaw.
But as is, I like it.
