Last year, the City of Oxford celabrated its 1000th birthday.

There was an enormous fire exhibiiton on one of the main roads. It was truly spectacular. I took this photo.

It was taken with a Canon Ixus 750 point and shoot, with the camera hand held.

I'd appreciate some criticism. I always tend to overlook flaws in the pictures I take!

I like the fire flickers! they look like pyre flies.

But the actual fire and bin should be sharper.

Just to frame my comments appropriately, would you consider this a portfolio shot? The whipping post is intended for serious shots that constitute one's best work.
Simple snapshot C&C is offered on other fine forums here.

Thanks for the comments Moogle. You're right - I should have paid more attention to the focus.

Miguel - I don't have a portfolio, nor will I ever have a portfolio. All my shots are snapshots. However, this is definately one of the best I've taken so far.
