awesome shot but it seems a little too centered for me.
too much dead space and uneven vignetting.

I don't know how you applied the vignetting.
However, note that when you use the vignetting tool in Lightroom, it applies the vignett to the original image. Thus, if your image is cropped, the vignette will look unnatural in the cropped section. There may be a way to get around it, but I guess you can always use photoshop to vignette it manually!

Being harsh - too much DOF and/or "your" hands are too close to the background. I see the background texture and would like not to.

I have to agree with ALL of the othe comments. The BG texture especially doesn't belong.

No I just think that you have to much DOF and you should have chaos in the background.

Aside from the technical issues cited by others, bear in mind that this concept has been done to death.

To get around this issue I export the cropped image and then re-import it before applying the vignetting.

Wall: I really like the texture of the wall.
