Just got back from Iowa, again.
Lets back up a minute.
Last Thursday, I bought a Canon 300 F2.8is lens from a friend. So I wanted to test it out a bit.
Seeing as Minnesota isn't the most photogenic place to be in Feb, we went on a little road trip to Iowa to shoot (figuratively speaking) some eagles.
The count was down, and we only had sunny skies til about 3:00 in the afternoon, But I think I got a few.
Another friend loaned me his Canon 2X tc for a while. It was way sharper than the Quantaray 2X tc that I took most (if not all) of these shots with.
The lens and tc where on my Canon 30D.
Most of these shots have had minimal PP done to them.

Wait, this isn't an eagle! What's' he doing here?

Once again we had a good sized group go.
To the eagles I'm sure the view looked something like this.
(You'll have to imagine that all these birds have $5000 of camera gear with them.):D

did you hit the QC's? I can't imagine the count being down. with as cold as it's been they should be hanging around locks 13, 14, 15 there.

Those are some most excellent BIFs of eagles. I think you made a good choice with the 300mm IS.

Thanks guys.

No Quad Cities here. We were in Burlington, and there were less there this week, than there were 2 weeks ago.
Maybe a couple of hundred less.:dunno

Unless there's another cold stretch, I'm guessing the peak season in done.
Burlington Iowa, Lock and Dam 18.
Run a search and I'm sure you'll find all kinds of stuff.

Dave

You should really put a link to your web site on your posts.....that way we can all go look at more of your work!!

again great stuff......but I haven't been able to find a web site talking about just the eagles? How did you hear about this place and what kind of research did you do before you went?
