I am posting the doves for comments and i can not find my sandpiper :cry the first one i like the movement and i know what i did wrong .I leaned too excited and leaned in, focus lower than subject :dunno i think i try to get just a little closer at the last minute .The second one i like the feel and the softness [it sure ain't sharp] but i like it. would like comments good or bad Jeff

I love still pics that convey movement. Very, very nice shots especially the first!

Hey Jeff,

You know what you did wrong so I wont belabor that. You did capture a good sense of movement. The second shot is a classic bird butt shot. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one getting those butt shots. :D

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one getting those butt shots. :DHarry bird butts you want bird butts i got bird butts by the ----- I have learned to look at my pics 2 ,3 times and ask what to do better and thanks for no belabor i beat me up real good already :D

Hi Jeff,

#1 was soooo close to being a killer capture. Keep hanging in there... it's gonna happen! I really do like the point of capture of that image. Thanks for sharin'.

Yep, you know what you did wrong. The good part is the composition and the sharpness of the image is left to the viewer's imagination. Try again tomorrow.

Did you know that doves mate for life? Yep, that's right...unless it's a juvenile, you will almost always see two doves together (male and female), unless momma is sitting on eggs.

Another thing that's cool about doves is that they seem to have no problem nesting near humans. Several times over the years, I've had nests of doves in my hanging redwood fuchsia pots under the eaves of my home. So did my dad. They don't even seem to mind when you water the plant, so long as you dribble the water in slowly on the edge of the pot furthest away from the nest.
