Amazing sight, let alone photographed

Saw these picture on the BBC (UK) news web sites, apart from the pictures being amazing, the fact the bird could swallow something that big

Question now is whether the glutton can fly!!
Seriously, I understand that's an unfortunately common cause of death for bald eagles. They gorge themselves in dumpsters, etc, then can't fly, and are too easy prey for other predators.
