The Kingston is dead, long live the Kingston!

This sucks. I am in a boat in Xozhimilco, and my 20D stops dead and says Error CF. The card also can't be recognized by my wolverine. I have about 60 shots on it, some really good.

I bought it about 2 weeks ago from B&H- do I take it to them, or contact Kingston directly (its a Kingston 2G)? Are my pics gone forever?

In all likelihood, you photos are still there and recoverable. There are a number of quite programs out there that will extract your data for you, some of them free. I would try that first. Contact Kingston and let them know about your problem. I'm betting that supplying them with a copy of the receipt will get you a replacement card. They might even do the data recovery for you as well - but who knows how long that will take.

That's the last freeware version... there's a shareware version which is up to 3.x, but I've never needed it.
