Don't get water above ground that often. Figured I'd get out and see what it looked like.

What was illuminating the foreground? I looks like the sun is pretty close to straight ahead. I know Nik has used a fill flash on some of his sunsets to illuminate the foreground but this has a warm glow to it. Gels??
thanks for posting

This is my favorite type of light, reflective! The contrast range fits well within the 5 stops of any digital camera as it appears to have done here. Also the composition works well with the fresh water eroded sand in the FG and the sidelite could lingering from the heavans in the distance. I would guess that there was no flash used and that the warm glow is from the sun bouncing off the cloud in the image as well as other clouds around the sun on cameras left.
Great shot:barb

I got to make this short because apparently I caught some kind of something or other standing in the bit of quicksand and a few of the locations and dust and rain storms I was in that day. A night of cold-sweats and nightmares, but strangely enough, inspiring to me.
Thanks to you all for your kind comments. And thanks Marc for explaining the lighting, you hit it right on the head. Gottago- I feel funny (yes, I would and will do it all over again).
