I first tried it in Oct 07, followed the instructions to the 'T' but it didn't work. http://dgrin.smugmug.com/gallery/3624147
Got some brief help and still didn't work.
I want to try again. There must be another code which is blocking flash from functioning in my homepage (welcome page).
Could someone please have a look at the codes in my customization page ie css, javascript, etc and tell me why it just won't work for the Homepage. It works for all other pages when I paste the code into the description box just as a test.
The original Oct thread - http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=74305
My site is www.mafotografix.com
I really want to make this work. Will someone please help me?
Thanks.

Hi Allen,
The homepage = welcome page
The code I have is in the 'Your Bio':
<html>
********>
var oParams = new Object;
oParams.AlbumID = "3684997";
oParams.newWindow = 'false';
oParams.transparent = "true";
oParams.splash = "http://www.smugmug.com/img/ria/ShizamSlides/smugmug_black.png";
oParams.showLogo = "false";
oParams.showThumbs = "false;
oParams.showButtons = 'true';
oParams.crossFadeSpeed = '350';
createSWF(600,600, oParams, "transparent");
</********
</html>
I also have the appropriate codes in my CSS and Javascript block.
For CSS this is what I have:
/* Flash page */
body {
opacity: 1;
}
#bioBox .photo {
display: none;
}
#userBio {
text-align: center;
}
For Javascript I have:
//flash display on homepage:
function createSWF( w, h, params) {
var args = "";
for (var i in params) {
args += i + "=" + params[i] + "&";
}
document.writeln('<object width="100%" height="100%" align="middle">'+ '<param name="movie" value="http://www.smugmug.com/ria/ShizamSlides-2007091201.swf?'+args+'"/>'+ '<param name="wmode" value="transparent" />'+ '<embed src="http://www.smugmug.com/ria/ShizamSlides-2007091201.swf?'+args+'" wmode="transparent" width="' + w + '" height="' + h + '" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowScriptAccess="always" allowNetworking="all"/></object>');
return 1;
}
Thanks.

Hi Allen,
The homepage = welcome page
The code I have is in the 'Your Bio':
..
Your bio box is not active, go into your control panel under the homepage tab
and click show.
This confuses me, this link just reverts to your homepage because it is
not a category or defined anywhere.
http://www.mafotografix.com/Home
this does the same and is you true homepage link.

Hmmm... ok let me try it out.
Hmmmm .... I just activated the bio but all it shows is a grey strip between the static photo and the navigator tabs.
Hmmmm ..... I'm sure I have to remove or modify the existing codes I have in there. Perhaps the static photo is blocking the flash.
Help?

Looks like you're only missing a closing quote in you bio.
oParams.showThumbs = "false";

Yahoo!!! Its working now :clap Thanks :bow Allen.
Hmmm ... one more ... so how do I make it back ground all black. I can't seem to find a 'theme' which is just simply all black or all white. I'd like these two options very much.
Also, how to I disable the flash controls by the visitor?
Now to create a custom flash gallery for this home page.
Next challenge ... a do pull down menus and then I'm set for the next few months.
Thanks.

I think you have external links off in you slideshow source gallery, not
running here.
This page (http://wiki.smugmug.com/display/SmugMug/Flash+Slideshow) has the info to disable the controls.
I you need any help on the pull downs holler back.

Ah, yes I tend to have my ext links on 'off' for all my galleries.
When I create a new gallery specifically for the flash page, I'll turn 'ext links' on.
Regarding the pull downs, I tried it at one time, some worked some didn't so I reverted it back to what you see now until I have some time to really play with it. But I really need pull downs soon.
Thanks Allen.

Where did he get his "api ..... .jpg" line from?
I'm trying to replace mine too. With this one - http://www.mafotografix.com/gallery/2643534#164851683-A-LB
This is his code:
ar oParams = new Object;
oParams.AlbumID = "1172795";
oParams.newWindow = 'false';
oParams.transparent = "true";
oParams.showLogo = "false";
oParams.showThumbs = "false";
oParams.splash = "http://api.smugmug.com/photos/196859758-745x745.jpg"
oParams.showButtons = 'false';
oParams.splashDelay = '1000';
oParams.crossFadeSpeed = '600';
createSWF(743,495, oParams, "transparent");" />

Oh but wait, the flash pic isn't centered :( - Update: I changed it to 700x500 and it seems to have made it centered.
And I can't seem to get rid of the grey background.... hmmmm.
Also, don't know if you notice, the first splash pic acts funny ie flickers a second time as the pic changes to the second one.
Actually these are not the final photos ... I have something fancier to present which I'll work on this weekend (off to dinner now but will be back at this tonight).

Does anyone have any idea why the splash pic flickers? http://www.mafotografix.com
How do I remove the grey box behind the flash photos; the grey box theme is 'smugmug classic'. I'd like to make my page background completely black.
Thanks.
