you and i both know that by using printscreen you get a degraded quality image as well as a copyright logo across an image, but is there a way to turn off print screen capabilities in any way?

I don't believe there is any way to remove print screen. It is outside of the control of your smugmug site, and outside of the control of the browser.

Plus, no matter what you do, there are screen capture tools that are readliy available.
