"The Photo is too Small to Buy this Item"

Hi Gang,

So I just today upgraded to a Pro Account (holding my breath) and I have a couple of quick questions.

1. Some of my photos have the above verbage on the price list. Should I upsize the file by increasing the ppi? Or, is there anything else I can do to make the photo large enough to print large?

2. Speaking of ppi, I think I read that the lab will upsize the ppi (dpi?) to the necessary amount prior to printing. Is that the case or should I upsize the file prior to uploading to SmugMug? My files seem to default to 72 ppi and I don't want that to be an issue at print time.

If the photos don't have large enough resolution, the print sizes are removed from the shopping cart to guarantee the best quality.

Most of my current work is meant to be displayed as Landscape, so a pixel dimension of say 1280x1920 (Portrait) is meant to be displayed 1920x1280. BUT, then SmugMug is saying that the picture is too small for certain prints because what it thinks is the length (1280 as uploaded) is too short (it insists on 1920).

Can SmugMug distinguish between landscape and portait? Or, how do I compensate for this? Displaying the photo sideways doesn't make a lot of sense. Expecting the buyer to rotate it doesn't either, and I don't think he has the ability anyway.

Maybe I'm overlooking the obvious, but I'm stumped, even with 4 cups of coffee in the last couple of hours. Help please? Thanks.
