At least we can narrow it down to a small part of the planet from the subject.... Yucca brevifolia population map (http://www.efloras.org/object_page.aspx?object_id=8799&flora_id=1).

Thanks for the kind comments everyone!

Yucca brevifolia, more commonly known as the Joshua Tree, is a favorite subject of mine. Thanks for the map Cabbey, it's interesting to see that Las Vegas is about dead center of the only place in the world where you will find Joshua Trees.

My image was shot at a favorite location of mine, that I don't want to reveal, but I will say it is in the Mohave National Preserve in California. The photo shows the aftermath of a wildfire. I wanted a lot of sky in the image so I was very low to the ground, probably 12 inches or less.

Congratulations BeachBill!
I am an old Calumet customer and get their e-newsletter. I saw that and didn't realize it was by a SmugMugger.

Or is it SmugMugite? :dunno
