Op, might be because you have nothing in the two categories. :D
Architecture and Nature are sub-cats of Portfolio. Not stand alone categories.

OK - before I tweak anymore and screw things up, let me ask you this. I have my nav bar linked to Portfolio to show the individual galleries in my portfolio, and it does. What would I have to do to have certain galleries show only on the Portfolio page and not the Galleries page, and not screw up the navigation to Portfolio from the nav bar. Do I name my 4 or 5 sub-categories of Nature and Architecture "Cat:Portfolio/Sub-cat:Nature", or keep the Categories "Nature", "Architecture" etc. I hope you understand my question, because my brain is getting confused. I don't want to do anything until I understand why I'm doing it.

Thanks for your patience.

Obviously, I'm not getting something, :scratch or I wouldn't have bothered you again. I do have photos in both the Nature and Architecture galleries.

But they are still showing up in the Galleries section and I only want them in my Portfolio page.

Please help my lame brain. I'm new to this.

They are showing on your galleries page because you have checked "display
by galleries" instead of "display by categories". That means all your public
galleries will show on the galleries page regardless of category.

In the upper right corner of the galleries box should be a toggle between
display cats and gals.

Allen,
I checked 'Display by Categories', and the Portfolio category still shows on my Galleries page. So now there are two more layers to get to the Portfolio: Portfolio>Nature>Nature>photos. This isn't the worse thing, but it is cumbersome. What I'd like is for the Portfolio Category to only be accessible through the Portfolio link on the nav bar. Is this possible, and if so, how?

Thank you,

Put those galleries directly in the Portfolio category. Leave the sub-cat box
blank under customize gallery and you'll lose the extra level.

I see nothing showing on your galleries page, all your other galleries must be
private because no categories show.
