Welcome to D/grin Adrian....& a great shot to start out with.Hehe, another moderator. I just asked what it means, I know what it means from the help, but what it means to you to be a moderator. Just curious.
Thanks for the welcome on board message! I guess this is a nice place to hang out. Normally I'm on STF but I could not resist Andy's invitation. http://www.dgrin.com/images/icons/Laughing.gif

Around here, a Moderator doesn't have much to do, because the people are so nice. On other sites, mods police the forums, making sure members are behaving themselves. Not much of that needed here.

I moderate the Hall of Wisdom, which means that when we have a thread with really good information that might help others, I'll eventually move it to the Hall so that it's easily found for later use.

I hear STF can get a little rambunctious! I'm really glad you stopped by to let us see your work. Got any more you wanna share?

Hi Adrian and welcome to Dgrin :wave

Thanks for sharing this outstanding shot with us :thumb :thumb

We have a high moderator to poster ratio here :lol As Sid (wxwax) points out, not too much for us to do here. It's a really nice place full of very nice folks who don't care what brand of camera you shoot with. STF just got a little to snippy for me. I still go there everyday, but I have cut way back on my posts. I don't want to ruffle any feathers or cause anyone any problems :D

Speaking of STF, I just read your "Cover Picture" post and Congratulations on a fine shot :bday As you can see, we don't have a Congrats smilie yet....LOL I agree that shot of Twan looks nicer in color. But a cover is a cover, no?

Nice to see you here and I'm off to look at your next pic :wink

Welcome to Dgrin :lynnma and I hope to see a lot more of your pics over here.I meet all the old buddies here and already love this place. Nice mood and good people, I like the structure of the site, still a bit new but i can see that some people have been thinking about this every well and still do. Great place to hang out. And thank you for the nice compliment.:):

Great color on both windmill shots. I'm jealous. Did you do anything special?Yes, in both cases I made the sudden decision to go for a fast shoot because the light was so sweet. It's a feeling of now or I will miss this beautiful light! :): So most of the credit goes to mother nature. I learned from Andy always to have my cam ready. In post I do as less as possible, but in most cases some levels adjustment, sometimes shadow/highlights, playing with contrast and/or saturation, noise filter, USM. That's about it. And of course I'm learning :D

All of these Windmill shots are gorgeous. I also know your work from STF, it is nice to see you here. I just joined last week and I am really happy about it. This place has a great layout and a vibe to match.

Thanks so much. Windmills are great subjects. They move and don't walk away. :): They are great landmarks. Amazing that people could build these "machines" in these early times(1500-1600). They were used for about everything here, like sawing, pumping, milling grain, making oil and of course to make sure we did not get wet feeth.
Thanks for looking! I will now and then post some mills here.
