can bridge open a 16bit psd file?

My bridge doesnt seem capable.

Is there something I can change in preferences?

If not, how do you over come this?

I am scanning MF negs so this is advantageous.

What do you mean "open a 16-bit PSD file"? Bridge only shows previews of images. By default, it opens PSDs in Photoshop.

Bridge works perfectly fine with 16-bit PSD files that are created by Photoshop, so if you're having issues with previews in Bridge on the PSDs created by the scanner, then it's probably an issue with the way the scanner is creating the PSDs. One possibility is to set your scanner software to create 16-bit TIFFs which is a bit more documented format than PSD.
