frustrated new yorkers, you city people, who couldn't shoot birds. I just saw on the news that there is a red tailed hawk family nesting in NYC. I am sure you all know where.

So rent a Bigma........... the babies are due april 15, I think. in addition to photographing the KPOTD, for which I think they need help, you can record the NYC red tailed hawk family.

Ginger they are pretty famous, there was a whole big scandal about taking their nest down because tenants of the building didn't like the carcasses that were left by the hawks.

ginger the dad's name is pale male. some really nasty co-op owners of a building on 5th avenue and central park, took his nest down. seems they didn't like the attention. the whole story drew lots of national eyes this way, and pale male is quite famous.

there's a nice elderly lady who sits in the park by the model sailboat pond, and she has a spotting scope on his nest all the time, and the looking is free - a rarity in nyc :lol3

oh and pale male is a 21st century kinda guy - he's actually sitting on the eggs in the nest these days, splitting time with mama.

Those damn birds make all sorts of noise. Shoot them, says I. Birds are meant to live in trees, not condos.
