Lovely shots- darter dragonflies always seem to smile and also chat to you whilst you are photographing them :)

Looks as if your pics would benefit from a de-noise such as the free neatimage prog.

Hi Marc, yes I have seen a Dragon Smile, and I smile every time I see one.
It used to be a standed joke with folks on this forum and on Dpreview that owned Sony's, cause just about everyone who had one photographed a Dragonfly not long after their purchase.

We figured Sony should just toss one in the box ready for photographing :rofl

The second shot looks like he's showing us his teeth hehehe!
They are an amazing insect Dragonflies, my favourite but not see alot around my area.

You did pretty good for using such a big lens.

Thanks for sharing Marc :thumb .... Skippy :D

Brian

Have deliberately left the two ISO1600 images as is, I personally feel they don't need any noise reduction.
.....................Too much emphasis on this subject these days :rolleyes

Your pictures :) but yes I know what you mean - depends on whether the grain adds to the picture or not.

Very true Brian.
Just checked out your Flickr images, you've got a fine collection of insect macros, VWD. :clap
