Winter's Beauty - Great story and link, I hope.

The end of last month I took a weekend trip, to meet a woman with whom I was corresponding. While the trip did not provide a kismet moment it was very nice.

From a photographic point of view it was beautiful. She lived in New Paltz an area in New York state I used to visit when I was a kid living in New Jersey. I now live in Canoga Park (Los Angeles), California. Anyway while I was refreshing my memory of the New Paltz area on the internet I came across the site of Steve Jordan. I really fell in love with his work. I e-mailed him through his guest book and asked some camera question. He was nice enough to send me a reply.

The thrill of this was that while in New Paltz we went to his gallery and I got to meet him. It was a quiet snowy afternoon and we got to talk for awhile. I bought an autographed copy of his book. He remembered getting my e-mail several weeks earlier.

The end of the story - He gave me directions to get to Awosting Falls, We got there just before the park closed. I love this shot of the stream leading to the falls, it was late and the light was fading, but I think it came out OK.

Glad you brought that up. I will look at it again. When I cropped the shot I went out of my way to leave them in thinking it helped frame the shot, but it didn't seem that there was enough there to look exactly right. I will try your suggestion tonight. Thanks for taking the time.

How kewl to meet a talented artist and be able to talk pitchas with him :clap I'm thinking that this would be a beautiful area to visit during the Fall. The colors, the flowing water, the falls :):

FWIW, I agree with Harry. If there was more than just that little branch in ther foreground, that might have been worth keeping it in. Just my opinion.

Thanks very much for looking and your comments. You are spot on that the area is a must for the fall. I have missed the last 20, living in L.A., but I am making a point of getting back there this year for sure. Steve Jordan has some nice fall shots.
