View Full Version : Hyde St Pier
JC and I stopped off here for about 2 hours. We were very lucky to be able to get there during the week when it's less crowded'
This is the entrance to the boats.
This a side view side of the ferry boat, and the rope that holds it.
Continuing with the black & white theme.
Looking at San Fransisco over the ships prow.
Looking out the front of the ferry boat from the wheel house.

Howdy Sam,
Wow, these are some stunning images, from the very nice and crisp B&W to the really neat Cabin shot.
Very Nicely Done!!!

Hope to be there either before or after the 2008 SmugMug/Dgrin Shoot.
The waterfront is has lots to offer, and it really is a beautiful City.

Wonderful Sam. Makes we want to go back to San Francisko. How did you do the shot in the cabin to get both cabin and outside so evenly exposed? I totally agree with previous poster that the black and whites are really popping. Very nice contrast. Great series!

My guess would be a bit of fill flash.

Sam, nice!! I love seeing all the little corners of SF that only a resident can show us. You have a great perspective on urban landscapes and details!
Thanks everybody!
Photocat, good eye, only a photographer would realize a camera would have trouble seeing / capturing both the inside, and the outside. I have been trying to practice these type of shots, and dave clee is correct I used fill flash. This reinforces me to remember to not only bring the flash, but to actually put it on the camera. :D
Schmoo: I must give all the location credit to JC. I am not a city / urban guy. She is the one who knows where these little nooks and crannies are.

Excellent set!!! Like everyone has commented, the B&W shots really pop. I love the rope on the dock, but they all have appeal! Good job. :thumb
