Very cool behavioral image! Seeing it still alive in the clutches of that harrier almost makes me feel sorry for it, but everyone has to eat! It's really clamping down it too!

Hi Everyone,
Thank you for all your comments. We have had a good amount of rain lately from all the big storms that have been moving through S. Calif.
Over the last week and weekend we had 4 days of pretty steady rain and then about 2 inches of snow so our two main lakes (that were down almost 10 feet or more) have reaped the benefit since the whole city drains into them. The one lake is overflowing (higher than I have ever seen it) and the other (where I do most of my shooting) is up about 6 feet and rising.
The spot where I've been shooting all summer is now under about 6 feet of water. All the brush you've seen in a lot of my shots is gone, also under water. All the fish must be in heaven from the shoulder high grass and brush that has grown up over the last year their new underwater playground.
This is great news for the wildlife but bad new for the ground critters. All the hawks, large and small, have been having a field-day with all the mice and critters that were stranded in areas that was their home for the last year. It looked like a Las Vegas Buffet out there yesterday, the hawks didn't even have to work up a sweat to have a feast.
