This palace is on the Thames a little more than 30 minutes south of London. It belonged to Cardinal Wolsey but Henry VIII decided he wanted it and of course then he took it and it became a favorite country house of English the kings. In 1689, Christopher Wren was commissioned by William & Mary to add a new more modern wing.
This picture shows the contrast between the Tudor part of the palace and the classical style of Wren.
