Hi You all,
This is a pic from a few months ago. I grabbed this shot of my son holding his new born son on the day we received word that his guard unit would be sent to Iraq this May.

What a strong pic Harry!! It makes me want to crawl through the screen and hug them both. He along with all of the others fighting for us over there will be in my prayers!

Thanks Sid. Right now Jason's ok but his 3 older daughters (ages 7-10) are beginning to realize that he will be gone for a long time. Its going to be a long year.

Harry, I hope your son's deployment is short and he returns safely. This whole Iraq mess can't end soon enough for my taste. God bless.(more pix of that beautiful baby please)

First of all, it strikes me as a very good exemple of a shot that works even though it doesn't quite follow the rules (it has a central composition and all). Great work here, it really shows a lot of feeling!
More importantly, though, I'd like to wish you, your son and grandchildren all the best during this hard year. I hope it passes fast and your son returns safely!
Take care!

What a cutie pie your youngest GS is!! S'keti on the face and all (could be something else, but looks a bit like mine when she's eating s'keti, he he). I hope he has a 3-S stay over there....safe, secure, short!
Can't wait to see more pics of the Grandkids...all of 'em:lust !!

Gee, Harry! Together with the text, that's a strong picture! A couple of years ago, I wouldn't have reacted the same way. But after bein' a father myself, pictures like this makes me wanna rush in and wake my son (he's sleepin' right now) up and hugh him! :feelgood

Hey Matty,
Thanks. Its good to hear that a shot that stirs up my own emotions is able to evoke similar emotions in others.
