After reading the article (http://www.naturescapes.net/012008/mr0108.htm) that Harry suggested, how I felt about the shots that I really like was reinforced. Here is an example of what I mean. This Song Sparrow shot is special to me because I was lucky to capture enough background to cement the feeling I had when I took it in my mind.
After a mostly uneventful walk on the prairie along some rail tracks, this fellow stopped and said goodbye and encouraged me to return. It was very windy, so I was lucky to be swaying with the grasses on this 420mm handheld shot.
