I like the idea of the second one. I would take it further, not for this challenge because I think spelling the word is anything but minimal, but the idea is a good one.

Since the letters are in front as well as top, I would try an angle from the upper right, but low enough to so you can see both but get the shape of the cube. You would need to open it up a bit for it to work, but I think the effect would be cool. I would also close in more if you have the lens for it.

yes, I thought maybe spelling it wouldn't be minimal but I had to try it anyway, this has got me in my creative mind set now and i can't stop...I'm going to have one last try and then I think I will leave it to the poeple who are actually good at this.

I definitely think this is a good idea to try out!
