Is there a new version of the 24-70 2.8 Sigma?:dunno :dunno :dunno

I just bought one, but it doesn't look like the one I see on ebay.
Mine says 24-70 mm on the left of the glass reading display is while the one posted on ebay say Sigma:scratch :scratch

Anybody know what I am talking about

Thank you

Here is a link to the Sigma page for that lens. It includes an image with the name "Sigma" on the left.

Sigma also made a 24-70mm f/3.5-5.6 and it has the focal length designation on the left as you describe. I don't find that lens on the Sigma corporate pages anymore but some vendors still have it (I couldn't find it at B&H):

Thanks, mine looks like the one in the first link.
It's a 2,8 but it doesn't say Sigma but 24-70 mm :scratch :scratch

Must be an old lens

Sigma should be able to tell you the date that the lens was manufactured if you tell them the serial number of the lens.

I just got myself used 28-70 f2.8 and so far out of all the lenses I've tried (new DSLR user here) it is the best! I think it was a steal at $120. Gotta love craigslist!
