I have a friend looking to purchase a 35mm slide scanner, not too pricey, for his father, and he's been having no luck. He asked me, but I am film ignorant. Thought I'd toss this query out to the group here and see if anyone could point us to a place to pick up one of these. :D
Thanks in advance! :thumb

would a HP 5500c scanjet work ?
it has a neg scanner attachment, and some sort of mechanical drive on the top cover..(never used either....)
ive had it 3-4yrs, and used it like less than 5 times....
(its setting on a shelf in closet...)
let me know if that work for you and how much you offer...:scratch

I have an old Epson flatbed that has a negative/postive holder. Good, but not great (what do you expect for $169 6 years ago). I also have a Minolta DiMage Scan Dual III (AF 2840) which was a more expensive dedicated scanner. You may be able to find one on eBay, but...
B&H does have the Nikon and Microtek film scanners. Historically Nikon has always had good film scanners, and Microtek had top notch flat beds. However I have not used any of the current models.
