Minority girls in Northwestern Burma
There are over 150 different tribes in Burma and I have no idea which tribe these girls are from. They were not keen about having their picture taken but I offered a gift to their mother which she accepted pleasantly. Their faces are covered with Thanakha paste, a cosmetic-sunblock favored by less urbanized Burmese.
This picture was taken in Bagan which is one of the major tourist cities in Burma and is the most important center of Buddhism in SEA. There are hundreds of temples on a vast plain next to the Irriwady River.
Taken at 11:29 under a blazing sun with the wonderful 18-70 lens
