What is the best way to take a pic with a Christas trree? I am trying on the TV setting at around half a second--on a tripod with a flash.

Hi joshhuntnm

I think these photos turned out nice.
Did you shoot in Raw or Jpg?

I have never shot RAW. Should I? I take LOTS of pics--mostly of family. It seems like it would use a lot more disk space.

Hi, Josh

Yes, it does use more disk space but you have a lot more control on the image. You can lighten/darken the shadows you can lighten/darken the high lights, You can change the exposure to what you want and much more.
You will need a RAW converter program you should be able to find a free one on the internet. When you shoot in RAW you computer will not see the images on your memory card untill you use the RAW coverter program to view them and convert them to jpg or tiff or what ever format you wish.
I want to wosh you and your family a Happy and Merry Christmas.

Take Care,
Chuck,
