I have the grip attached to the camera. After the wheel is turned to the lock position is it normal for there to be a little play left or right. It thightens and there are no problems in operation.

Mine have little loose too, but grip is locked firm -
I think it's just designed that way.

Thank you. I guess it's a sfatey stop so as to not over thighten and having the wheel brake.

Same here, it's still tight even with the little bit of play. Mine has yet to come loose after tightening.
