Well, looks like it's my turn to share some plunder from the SM party trip...

We arrived to Mountain View about 2:30 pm. Hotel Zico turned out to be a very nice place:

Smugmug office was less than a mile away, we found it easily by huge posters. Inside was not your ordinary boring office:

As it's been said by many, the party was great! I couldn't miss the important stuff, of course:

Food was awesome:

And the company just doesn't get any better:

Next day we visited the sacred point - GGB:-) Below are few shots...

Crikey! I know I made my own bed when I planned my own company's holiday party the same night as the Smugger's party (we had a fantastastic; and well deserved great time in our own right, mind you!) but seeing all these out of town folks shooting in my own back yard without getting to join them is just salt on the wound!

Great shots Nikolai! Hopefully next time! :thumbup

Nice set, Nik. The GGB tower shadow is very cool. You know you're dealing with an icon when even its shadow is instantly recognizable. :thumb

Cheers,

Whoah Nik! You got some great shots of SF :bow

I love that staircase shot and I'm kicking myself for taking the other stairwell back down, not that one.

It was good to see you again! :D

It's great that you too had a good party, it always brings a nice feeling when you see people you see everyday in a different environment, esp. dressed up and such.

Staircase was difficult... Very dark...Still managed to get it handheld at 0.6 sec :ivar
It was great to see you, too!:thumb

:D great pictures, very creative. i like being able to look at others work, it makes me realize how much there really is to take pictures of, this place is going to make me sleep with my camera on so i do not miss a shot!

Thank you!
The problem with GGB is that it's the most photographed bridge in the world, so it's really hard to come out with something different, especially during a very short family trip (hence no early morning/late night shots) :scratch
Good luck! :thumb

It was great seeing you again! I just wished that you had time to shoot with us on Saturday as well!

I think my faves of the bunch are the Fort Pont stairway and Fort Point 3d floor. And you got some really interesting non-standard views of the bridge! :thumb

Terrific set.

I didn't know SmugMug's offices are in MV. I used to live in Mountain View.
I miss going to downtown MV to eat.

Really enjoyed your shots of Fort Point. It's one of my favorite places
in SF. It's got it all, great view of the Bay, Golden Gate Bridge, and
a historical fort.

Very creative angle with the chain fence.

Thanks for sharing.

haha... I still have this fear of looking like an idiot when out shooting. However for shots like this I think it would totally be worth it. :thumb
