I've scaled down the size of my overall webpage, and I am having problems scaling down the main image in the smugmug style galleries. What I did for smugmug_small isn't working.
Here's a link to an example http://smile-123.smugmug.com/gallery/3543565#200624836

Duh? :scratch
Just accept the basic idea of the layout for a minute. Maybe there's a different approach to fitting this all on 1 page but I have a lot invested in this before we do a complete rewrite. When you put fixed size buttons on the left and right you immediately run into a scaling issue between different size monitors/windows. After trying everything, I finally just went for a fixed monitor size of 1024 wide, maybe someday I'll do better.
I've scalled down all of the gallery sizes that I use (smugmug_small, traditional, journal) to fit, so I'm not a total beginner at all this. But, I cannot get the "main photo", i.e. right photo, smaller so that it fits the alotted space. It overlaps the menu buttons on the right.
I have tried more than a couple times and cannot find a way to make that main image smaller.
I see that the smugmug gallery style is implemented completely different from smugmug_small, the prior using ajax and lightBox classes. I suspect there is something about that implementation and makes diddling with the CSS a waste of time.
Will you ask someone?
This post has been here since Friday evening and I've sent two emails to the help desk. I know you guys have all been in big party mode and traveling so I amtrying to be understanding. PS Congrats!

And you are trying something that is unique - never seen it before. So I thank you for your patience :thumb
SmugMug style is fluid now.
SmugMug small seems to be the way to go, if you wish to limit the size. But I'm still having a hard time understanding if this is what you want, I'm sorry.
The main photo will always be up to 400px wide in SmugMug Small style, and there's not a way to change the width.
Does this help? Let me know, thanks.

Alright. I can work around it by manually changing 50+ galleries from smugmug to smugmug_small if that's the best I can do. I was trying to doing it a little more elegantly.

SmugBrowser should help here, tremendously.
But I have to say, if I were looking to buy a service such as you are offering and I saw one like yours, and then one with big beautiful photos on the page, I'd be more inclined to go with the bigger gorgeous photos. But that's just me :thumb

Me too. But I am trying to raise sponsors, hence the big buttons on the right. I found out last year that "friend" websites like fishing and boating organizations attract a lot of boater traffic. The sponsorship idea is basically trying to cut overhead costs that may make this whole idea "not a good business model". So far I only have 1 with another on the fence. If the sponsorship idea doesn't work out then maybe I'll kill those big buttons and free up the space which will let me go back to a more conventional design.
