If someone adds my site to their "favorites" (or bookmarks my site), does this have any impact with search engine optimization? Just curious....

I wouldn't think so. There's no way for the search engines to see that a site is bookmarked - the URL used is the same whether it's a bookmark or someone types it in.
What does matter is links to your site from other sites. For example, if you have a blog (I didn't see one from your smug site), you can link to your galleries from your blog and link to your blog from your galleries. And if you participate in forums other than dgrin, add a link to your site in your signature. I think you've already seen the wiki entry http://smugmug.jot.com/WikiHome/MaximizeYourFindability, right?

No, it doesn't.
