I have some amazing friends, and they bought me custom poker chips for the game I host. I was so surprised and happy I just had to share. Here are a few shots. Some of the printing on the chips came out a bit fuzzy. I should have chosen a better gray chip to use, such is hindsight.

And no, there is no 'von' in my last name, but it has a better ring to it :ivar

The guy that hosts the game I usually go to has a similar set and they are
very nice. The decks that came with are also of the same quality.
Too bad I can't play well enough the appreciate them in such qty :D

Practice, Practice, Practice.
And a good way to do that would be to come play. Can I expect you at the next game? It's only 2800 miles or so according to google (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=&time=&date=&ttype=&saddr=San+Francisco,+CA&daddr=Baltimore,+MD&sll=39.779095,-99.57246&sspn=42.344264,60.556641&ie=UTF8&ll=39.774769,-99.492187&spn=42.344264,60.556641&z=4&om=1)

Doesn't "von" translate to "of" in GERMAN?

Sure does. It's used in surnames (not mine) often, like De or D' in French.
I had no idea they were getting me these chips, so when they came into my office at work and asked me what I call my poker night that was the first thing I could think of. They were going to translate 'casino' into German, but didn't like Speilenbank, so went with the alternative 'kasino' spelling. So, I ended up with "Casino of (the) Theune" on the chips in German.

Cool. PS. De also works for Spanish (I'm semi fluent in Spanish and learning French, Italian and Romanian right now :D)
Nice set of chips though. I need some good ones.
