Egg, white.
:)
I don't know if this does anything for the viewer. Perhaps changing the lighting to more sharply bring out the texture on the egg shell might be in order?

that's an idea, and I like this actually. ever seen an egg strongly lit from the back so that you can see the insides? might make for an interesting repetition of shape with the yolk and the shell.
how'd you get the egg to stand up like that? :scratch

works for me!
I instantly thought of seeing a 15' print of it hanging in the Guggenheim. :clap

Lots and lots of patience! :D
If you're very very steady, you can make eggs, brooms, and other things stand on an end... It's even possible to stand the egg on the narrower end, but that's more patience than I had this morning!

I really like this shot. The simplicity of the subject and the lighting worked great.
It would surely have been a winner if you were allowed to enter the contest!:dunno
Congrats again on your last win:clap

Is that a dinosaur egg?
good idea, but don't let it hatch.

I'm sure it's just me but, what about a single "crack" on the egg ?? :huh

I'm sure it's just me but, what about a single "crack" on the egg ?? :huhI thought the same thing this morning, and tried to put that single dramatic crack...
It turns out that making such a crack is no easy task... I ended up making breakfast, and called it a shoot. :rofl

Joe, thanks for sharing your set-up. Amazing how good the lighting looks, given your limited tools. Nice job! The white on white is a really good idea.
