Two nice shots. :thumb #1 would have been better if you hadn't cut off its butt.

That's OK, we've got extra Goose Butts (http://gubbs.smugmug.com/photos/4191672-L.jpg) :D
ridetwistyroads,
As harry said, two nice shots. I love all the detail in #1. Nice combination of absolutely perfect focus and great exposure. It looks like you used a fairly large aperture. I'd love to know the details on this shot (camera, lens, exposure, etc.)

Harry - thanks. I know I cut him off in the behind, I'm a birding novice.
Cletus - I can't recall the exact settings, I'm using an old manual lens with my d70, so no exif included. Something like f5.6, most likely, possibly as high as f8, the lens is a 50mm prime.
The second wasn't one of my favorite photo's as far as technical perfection, but then, what is. I loved the pose.

I just remembered that those same two showed me their better sides on the way into the lake, so, here's some repayment for missing goose butt. :rofl
(this needs a crop, I just posted it now because I was thinking of it...)
