Well this shot is interesting in spite of being too dark. But it is still too dark and the contrast is way too minimal. I also think the foreground is too black. There are too few compelling shapes to serve as effective silohettes. Still I like the shape of the clouds and their continuity across the frame is pretty cool.
What kind of LR preset did you use here? Perhaps another one would work better.

I'm not sure if it's really considered a "preset" since I only worked on one image but...

I shot some clouds on the horizon that were interesting.
Cropped out much of the sky.
Did a grayscale conversion and tweaked the blacks and lights and contrast till I had the look I liked.
I wasn't going for visual realism. Just wanted to showcase the clouds.
I played with lightening the foreground. I didn't like the result.
