I am starting to do more portraits, and am looking for C&C's. This mom-to-be wanted "soft" belly shots. I tend to like more sharp/detailed images. I am trying to step out of my cofort zone. What are your opinions about these images--too soft?, too flat/not enough contrast? or just right? Thanks for taking the time to look.

I think they turned out very well! Her eyes are sharp (where it counts) and the softness goes with the high-key effect. Colors and contrast are good on my monitor. Your client will be pleased, and that's what counts! :D

Im a fan of soft focus as well and these seem to be just right. Im sure she will be pleased!

I'm guessing they're just what she wanted. Better hide the first one from the kids though. In about 14 years, that one of his preggers momma would have a teenaged boy running to therapy.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to comment. It makes me feel more confident in my "ability" to create a decent soft focus image. The mom-to-be is a good friend of mine, so she would say she liked them no matter what--it's good to get unbiased opinions. Thanks again!

:roflFunny you should say that.....she is not planning on showing that first one to her father either.

I don't get it...what is wrong with the first shot?

BTW..I have been approached to do the same thing for a friend of mine' daughter, but she wants totally nude pictures. So I've been looking for poses that would be all right I guess...

Hot is hot. But most teenaged boys want to think their Mom conceived miraculously. Ain't nothing miraculous about THAT look:whew
