Setting Gallery images

I'm still learning how to customize, and it's pretty complicated. I was wondering if someone could tell me how to set the thumnail images for my galleries and keep them the same. I can't figure out how to set them so that they are always the same and don't rotate, on my home page? Thanks, Chip
