Thanks to Bonnie Char I've got the concert recordings that I made playing with my photos of the performers. To see how it is done visit
rivertext.smugmug.com (http://rivertext.smugmug.com/)
and check the source code for the featured gallery called "Riot Folk" and read the explanation Bonnie Char emailed me:
For adding music, you need to first have storage space outside of smugmug to upload the music to first.
1.) I use iTunes to convert a song from CD to mp3.
2.)Change the name to a file name with all lower case characters, followed by ".mp3"
3.) Upload the file to your storage space online.
4.)Copy the link to that song, i.e. http://www.rivertext.com/letitbe.mp3 ( this is not a real link, but this is what it would look like)
5.)Use the HTML code for embedding music. Place it in your photo caption editing box.
Here is the code, but you must put a pair of brackets around it. I can't show you the code with brackets in this letter, because if I did it, the e-mail would see it as HTML and it would become invisible. The code:
embed src="http://www.rivertext.com/letitbe.mid3" width=25 height=25 autostart=true repeat=true loop=true
----
(I didn't want it to loop, so I set the loop to false.)

Make sure you have a very prominent "OFF" button for your music. There are at least a couple people in this world who prefer silent webpages-- no matter how cool the music. I back out of a lot of webpages or spend a lot less time on them when they start playing music and I can't find the off button. I suspect I'm not alone in this. I work as a radio producer in real-life-- I hear plenty of audio without being bombarded with unrequested music on the web!

Is there anyway to embed it in the homepage slideshow?I've tried embedding music in the footer, but it keeps getting reloaded after every page click. i would like to have the music remain static, but if that's not possible i'll second the request for help to get it embedded in the homepage slideshow.

It's not possible in the homepage slideshow hack, sorry.thanks for the quick response Andy. Is there any part of our sites that remains static when moving through the site that we could embed music, or is that just simply not in the cards?

Thanks for helping me try to figure out how to put music on my site. However, the first step has me stumped. I can't get a CD to convert to mp3. Is WAV the same thing? I have songs on itunes already- some were purchased (which can't be converted) and others are from a CD. I used the ones from a CD, but still no luck. Can you assist?
Thanks!
Tara

My banner shows on top of each one of my pages. Could I embed the file there since it remains static and the music would play without starting and stopping each time you change pages?
Thanks.
