I didn't see much blue sky while I was visiting at Yosemite so I had to do what I could with a moody, gray sky. This is the chapel in Yosemite Valley and for those of you who have been there and seen it - yes, there is an asphalt path leading up to the front doorstep. It looked terrible and out of place so I photoshopped it out.

Dixie,

Simply smashing!! The beautiful colors at the bottom changing to 'no color' at the top ... really great!

Looks great Dixie. Is the fog/low cloud a later addition?

Looks great Dixie. Is the fog/low cloud a later addition? No, Sid, the fog and clouds were there naturally. I photoshopped two things in the photo. The first, which I already mentioned, is the removal of the asphalt pathway leading up to the doorsteps.

The second change I made was to correct the perspective causing the outside walls to converge as they moved up towards the roof. I did this by selecting the entire photo and then using transform to skew the top right and left corners until the walls were parallel.

I plan on fixing the perspective problem in the near future with the acquisition of one or two of the Canon Tilt-Shift lens.

Below is the Before & After photos showing the asphalt path and the rocketship look to the chapel prior to removing the pathway and correcting perspective.
