Harry, what is this one? He is bigger than the Ibis, but doesn't look like a heron.

All right Ginger!! :super The exposure on those White Ibises is fine. Good work.
The bird in question is the Little Blue Heron. Excellent capture of that little guy.

This is my first post on this board, so it is a test.
The attached picture was taken by my wife three weeks ago, and it is a confirmed little blue heron. Doesn't look much like #1.

Hey Thomas,
The Little Blue Heron has a purplish maroon neck and head, a grey bill and black tip and a grey body. That pretty much describes #1. The only similar bird is the Reddish Egret (only around 4000 in the USA) which has a grey body and a reddish head and neck with a pink bill with a black tip. Its legs are a dark blue.

Thanks everybody. Just got back from eating RIBS. Carolina Sweet Ribs, pork.
I love the first one I put up here, it was the last photo I took, I said to bill, i have one left, he said you have enough to look at. I saw the grass when I took it and thought it might work well. Now that I look at it again, I would like to have a print of that one. It is sharp.
To get him over the weeds, I had to stand up. OK, i had walked a lot to get to those birds, back and forth and further, so I sat down, propped myself and photographed the IBISes. I don't like those birds. I have never made a pretty photo of an Ibis. I cropped in kind of tight in post, as, well, I hoped to make them look better. No way I can think of to make an Ibis look good, unless he is flying in a flock. Harry has one of those photos, I like it.
I feel better. Got the baptism photo. Got a different entry to the challlenge, not a kid. Got some birds at that place where I can't usually get them.
Have had ribs, and now I am exhausted.
later,
ginger
