I hate IE

So I'm redoing my site, and lo and behold, IE decides it isnt going to render things the same. Notice the header on both russellhewett.com and renstar.smugmug.com in FF. Then, in IE6, there is a random dash after the (temporary) logo graphic on russellhewett.com. The dash is there as well on renstar.smugmug.com but I also can't get the alignment right.

Any ideas?
