RSS button without the text

Just popped my RSS tag back on my site:

1) it only features on my "Vanity page" does that mean that the feed will only inform someone if my vanity page changes or does everything in my site qualify?

2) I would like to eliminate the text that is beiside it (get feeds/what are feeds)

3) I would like to pop this button besides the smugmugfooter (I presume I am obliged to keep this?) or in its place.

I read what are feeds. that helps.

1) I cannot have a feed for my site as all galleries are private. a "hacK" takes you in to the portfolio. so you would never see any new work appear in a reader.
