.hmmmm. i didn't know there were two. Sigma's website usually has a link to the "older" lens... don't see it in this case.

Wheres the shots with this new lens ?Funny you should ask... check the super secret forum... I'm trying to figure out where to put it. After reading this thread actually, I noticed there's 2 forums where this Bigma is being discussed. Its not too clear where to put lens reviews/comments.

I read something about this last week. I think those 2 lenses are one in the same. While Sigma did announce improvements to many of their lenses, including the Bigma, they didn't do enough (I think the change was limited to replacing one element with a differently coated version) to justify doubling the price. I mean it's not like the added IS/OS or anything.
Stay tuned, it should get clearer by the time we figure out where to put this thread :lol

Yes, there is (or will come) a new bigma. The only difference with the existing one is "DG" Optimized for use on digital cameras. But this cannot double the price.
Have a look here: http://www.pma-show.com/sigma/003_dg_ex_tele_lens.html
A bigma with "OS" could be very very very interesting :nod Will they ever make that ???
