on my homepage i can press the "themes" button and preview themes then save the one i want
no problem

however on individual gallery homepages, if i press the themes button i get the usual dropdown list but when i click on a theme the dropdown box "drops" up, but nothing changes. i have to use the "customize gallery" page to change the themes of individual galleries.:rofl

??

thanks

Welcome - it'll help us to know your site name please.

That themes menu / picker requires Javascript to be enabled. So, check that in your browser, and also what browser / version are you using? Thanks.

what you said is exactly the situation.

but this might help!:
the gallery you mentioned was just created by me about 30 minutes ago.
for fun i tried the themes preview and it worked fine (i changed from default, carbonite to blue, without a hitch.)
then i went to gallery tools and made some adjustments (dont recall exactly, i removed geography and filenames and photorank, maybe a few more small things, i didnt change the theme at this time)
NOW the themes preview wont work properly again on this gallery!?

Things to check.

Set to custom under appearance
Hide owner not on
Not in a community.

I just looked at the above three links and tried to preview a theme, it seemed to work fine :scratch

Hide owner is set to the gallery that is linked above. All customization will be taken away from that gallery. See: http://dgrin.smugmug.com/gallery/2720246

Try clearing your browsers' cache?

Internet Explorer 7

1. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options... .

2. Choose the General tab.

3. Under Browsing history, click Delete... .

4. Next to "Temporary Internet Files", click Delete files... .

5. Click Close, and then click OK to exit.

Firefox 2.0 for Windows

From the Tools menu, select Clear Private Data, and then choose Cache.

Does that help?
