Sounds like a good result for the photographer... just wonder that the amount awarded may be a tad excessive :dunno
Not a bad idea providing a deterent to other potential copyright infringers, but perhaps putting people out of a job isn't the best end result (just guessing here - doesn't sound like a company that can easily absorb that kind of claim). At least the photographer can by some new kit :rolleyes

It sounds like they are sending a message to the company and others that try the same thing. Sounds like the company got very, very nasty wihtout good reason (except to hide that they knowingly infringed) & that award was a big-time slap down. Of course, it was also a little 2-paragraph summary, so little more can be inferred.
